The fishing village Fuseta (also known as Fuzeta) is situated between Olhão (9 km) and Tavira (14 km). For the inhabitants of Fuseta fishing is still very important and there for you can find many small fishing boats in the harbor. In the summer a lot of (day)tourists come to Fuseta because of the beach. To reach the beautiful long sandy beach you can use the ferry or you can take a water taxi. The ferry goes usually from the beginning of April till the end of October and it takes about 10 minutes to get to the beach. In wintertime you can call the water taxi. The beach at the lagoons can be reached directly from the village. From the harbor of Fuseta you can go for a nice boat trip with Passeios Ria Formosa or you can rent kayaks. In the village there are several restaurants and cafés where you can have a good meal or just have a drink for really low prices. Especially the town square has a nice and typical Portuguese atmosphere.

Fuseta has its own train station just outside the village (close to our house) which off course is very convenient if you don’t want to use a car. Every first Thursday of the month there is a big market in the village. This is absolute worth a visit because of the variety of goods which are for sale.
